Local backup through Files

Create a database backup, then save or share it through the device file picker. On Apple devices, iCloud Drive can be one of those user-selected destinations.

You choose when to create it.
You choose where to store it.
You can restore it through the file picker.
You are responsible for retaining and protecting the file.

Automatic iCloud snapshots

RoadStance keeps a rotating set of dated database copies in the private app area of your Apple iCloud account, ready for in-app browsing and restore.

Automatic checks run when eligible app events occur.
Multiple dated snapshots provide continuity over time.
Backups remain associated with your Apple iCloud account.
Your primary device remains the working copy.

Store exported database files with the same care as other financial records. Your storage provider may encrypt data in transit and at rest; RoadStance-exported files do not include an additional file password.

Practical safeguards

Keep more than one dated generation.
Use a trusted account and protect it with strong authentication.
Avoid ordinary unencrypted email for long-term storage.
Create a fresh backup before restoring or making major year-end changes.
Wait for copy or upload completion before deleting another copy.

Limited external services

Local records, selective online services.

Map tiles, address lookup, route-distance requests, App Store subscription checks, iCloud operations, and selected technical crash diagnostics use external providers when those features run. RoadStance does not intentionally attach your trip history or receipt contents to crash reports. See the Privacy Policy for the exact categories and providers.
